HelenSCHOFIELDHelen Schofield died peacefully at Wiltshire Heights on 8th May.
She was the much loved daughter of Theo and Marjorie Schofield. She attended the Royal School, Bath and trained as a State Registered Nurse at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford.
She then had a distinguished career as an Officer in the Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Nursing Service, becoming Head of Nurse Education, and being awarded the Associate of the Royal Red Cross medal for "exceptional service and devotion to duty".
On retirement in 1995 she moved back to Bath and became very involved in nurse education at the RUH, and in numerous and various community activities. These included being a tree warden at the Westonbirt Arboretum, chief observer for the Institute of Advanced Motoring, a leading member of the SAFFA group, contributing to the leaflets produced by the Bath Tree Wardens, and being an enthusiastic member of the Bath Golf Club.
To all of these she brought energy, enthusiasm and leadership, and made many "chums", who will sorely miss her.
She was also her family's favourite aunt, and they all will also miss her deeply.
The family are very grateful for the care that she received from the Dyson Cancer Centre and Pultney Ward at the RUH, as well a brief stay at Wiltshire Heights.
